1. Who is responsible
The operator of Ouvir is the data controller for account data. Contact for privacy requests: 78opal78@gmail.com.
2. Audio is not stored
Audio from your microphone is split into short segments, sent for recognition and processed in memory only. We do not store raw audio recordings; each segment is discarded as soon as the text is produced.
3. What we store
Your email address and sign-in data; lesson titles, recognised text and translations; saved vocabulary; lesson summaries; interface settings; encrypted API keys if you add them; usage time of the built-in AI.
4. Why (legal basis)
We process this data to provide the service you requested (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to protect the service against abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)). Voices of other lesson participants may be processed when you record — you are responsible for informing them and obtaining their consent.
5. Service providers (sub-processors)
Lovable Cloud (database, authentication, hosting); Cloudflare (network delivery); AI providers used for recognition and translation — Google (Gemini), OpenAI, and, if you choose them, Speechmatics or Deepgram. Some are located outside the EU; transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
6. How long we keep data
Data is kept while your account exists. When you delete a lesson, a word or your account, the data is removed from the database.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and export your data, and to object to or restrict processing (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can delete everything yourself in Settings, or write to us. You may also complain to a data protection authority, e.g. CNPD in Portugal.
8. Cookies and storage
We only use browser storage needed for sign-in and your preferences (for example interface language). We do not use advertising trackers.
9. AI transparency
Transcripts, translations and summaries shown in the app are generated by artificial intelligence.
